How can I tell if I’m suffering from a sinus infection?

I have been experiencing (what I had believed to be) a terrible cold. The mucus coming out of my nose was once clear, but not has a greenish tinge. Is this a sign of infection and if so what should my next step be?

Hi there,

Thanks for your question.

When sinuses are congested or infected, a person may experience a number of uncomfortable symptoms, such as:

– difficulty
– pain around the eyes, forehead and cheeks
– fatigue
– dental pain
– headaches

One of the most common conditions is sinusitis – also known as rhinosinusitis – which is an inflammation of the tissue lining the sinuses that afflicts over 35 million people each year.
