Would you recommend the Pillar Procedure for all forms of obstructive breathing?

0

I have been experiencing a prolonged case of sleep apnea caused primarily by my obstructive breathing. My nasal congestion is brought on by a hyper production of mucus and although I’ve tried to remedy this issue through medication, I’ve had no success. My next step may be surgical. Would you recommend the Pillar Procedure for all forms of obstructive breathing?

Hi there,

Thanks for your question.

The pillar procedure is a minor surgery procedure intended to relieve snoring and treat mild to moderate cases of obstructive sleep apnea. Obstructive apnea is a potentially serious disorder in which breathing is interrupted during sleep and when left untreated can often worsen. Both snoring and obstructive sleep apnea may result from a relaxation of muscles at the back of the throat.
